Action Plans
The purpose of the foundation is primarily to entrench the rule of law by supporting the local judiciary and those who would rather not be corrupted. Our current place of activity is at Warri, in the Niger Delta.

The Niger Delta and The Escravos ( A Portuguese term for Slaves!) People

The people of Escravos (Called Ugborodo by the indegenous inhabitants) like the other people of the oil producing communities of Nigeria are living in abject poverty with virtually no infrastructure, inter-tribal wars, youth unemployment, violence and terrorism directly and indirectly sponsored by the oil companies to murder, destroy and assassinate individuals who are genuinely trying to protect their environment and to bring development to their people. Sensational as this may sound, it is a fact and a clear demonstration of "divide and rule". This fact would be made much clearer as the machiavellian activities of some Oil companies are exposed in civil cases sponsored by SAK international.

The SAK Foundation in Nigeria therefore aims to encourage virtue in the people, not denying the presence of vices but definitely not condoning such. This we believe, can simply be done by entrenching the rule of law which is made almost impossible by the synergistic action of corruption and poverty which has paralysed the Judiciary.

The primary objective for Nigeria is to help uplift the oppressed and exploited people of the land of Ugborodo (Escravos) and the Niger Delta by ;

1) Protecting the civil rights of the peoples of the Niger Delta.

2) Protecting the environment of the Niger Delta from the massive and untoward degradation caused by the activities of oil exploitation companies

3) Creating a network of legal practitioners committed to the ideals of this Charity and the SAK foundation for the purposes of rendering legal aid to the exploited and oppressed including those who may face persecution for their honesty and uprightness. The ultimate aim here, is therefore to support the development and advancement of a local legal and judicial system that upholds the sacredness of the rule of law.

4) Improving the living standards of the exploited people of the Niger Delta.

5) Exposing the machiavellian activities of oil exploitation companies.( civil case against Chevron Nigeria Ltd already in court)

6) Identifying entities ( corporate or individual) who are upright and incorruptible and develop a relationship with them with a view to implementing a series of programmes towards strengthening the concept of not partaking in the culture of "free-floating corruption"

7) Providing a format for rewarding and supporting young intelligent persons who are willing to uphold their integrity and put their educational and intellectual capabilities to the growth and development of their country.

The Foundation therefore aims to organize lectures and sponsor prizes in secondary schools and universities to encourage the education of the people about their fundamental human rights, the need to embrace virtuous conduct and to eschew the retrogressive so-called ‘Nigerian Factor’ that has ruined the lives of millions of people over the years.

Ultimately our goal is to bring peace and development to the Niger Delta and remove ignorance from these places that have been neglected by government, the oil companies and by the people themselves. The SAK foundation therefore aims to;

8) Develop and implement programmes and strategies towards ensuring and encouraging in the Niger Delta, the virtues of unity, love, diligence, honesty, uprightness and genuine altruistic community service.

9) Create a healthy and active social network for the protection of the rights of the exploited by organizing programmes to encourage friendship and unity amongst various people in the oil producing areas and stop the sponsorship of terrorism and inter-tribal wars in oil producing areas of Nigeria.

10) Push for laws to prevent companies from indirect rule and dubious conduct against helpless communities

11) Undertake empirical studies to ascertain the root causes and the dynamics of youth upheavals and other disturbances with a view to preferring reasonable, practicable, measurable and sustainable solutions for the eradication of this retrogressive problem afflicting the Niger Delta.

12) Encourage the creation of useful opportunities for employment with Tourism as an alternative to Petroleum in the Niger Delta. This has been researched by the SAK foundation and found to be clearly viable, cleaner, more friendly to the environment than petroleum and offers a more fulfilling and longer lasting economic prospects for the indigenous peoples of the Niger Delta.
